Blistering heat wave scorches Gujarat

Gujarat is in the grip of a severe heat wave, with the mercury going above 44 degree Celsius for the past few days. Ahmedabad and State capital Gandhinagar recorded the season’s highest temperature of 44.6 Celsius on Saturday.

“Heat wave conditions prevailed in most parts of Gujarat as the weather remained dry during the day with most cities, except those in the coastal region, recording maximum temperatures in the range of 40 to 44 degrees Celsius,” the Meteorological department said
