Heat wave aggravates, Barmer hits record 44.4 degrees Celsius
There was no respite from scorching heat in the state on Monday when Barmer remained hottest with a maximum temperature of 44.4 degrees Celsius. Barmer has broken its all-time record as it was hottest day ever in March for denizens of western Rajasthan.
According to data available with Jaipur Met office, Barmer recorded a maximum temperature of 43.3 degrees Celsius on March, 30, 1946 which was all time record for the district.
Barmer was followed by Jaisalmer where a maximum temperature of 42.3 degrees Celsius was recorded, Jodhpur 41.5 degrees Celsius, Bikaner 41.5 degrees Celsius, Churu 41.2 degrees Celsius, Ajmer 40.5 degrees Celsius, Kota 40.2 degrees Celsius, Sriganganagar and Pilani 39.8 degrees Celsius each and a maximum temperature of 39.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
