Heavy rains shut roads across Charlotte region; flood threat remains
United States
Heavy rain turned most of the Charlotte region into a gray, soggy mess on Monday. As much as 2.5 inches of rain fell across the Charlotte region on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. The precipitation prompted a flood warning until about noon, and a flood watch that lasted until midnight. The rain caused headaches for commuters and likely contributed to a Monday morning crash that killed a man on Interstate 485.
