Ice Out on White Bear Lake is Earliest Ever

Thanks to a warm end to winter, White Bear Lake recorded its earliest ice out on Wednesday — one of a number of St. Paul-Minneapolis area lakes that are thawing early. The previous record for White Bear, in records dating back to 1928, was March 19, 2012. The lake’s median ice out date is April 13, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources
