Flooding, Overwash On Hatteras and Ocracoke as Maria Brushes Outer Banks

Maria brought minor flooding and overwash on both Ocracoke and Hatteras Islands beginning Tuesday.

Ferry service from Ocracoke Island was halted due to rough weather conditions.

Officials in North Carolina ordered visitors to evacuate Ocracoke and Hatteras islands ahead of Tropical Storm Maria.
