For weeks, wildfires stalked the small, tight-knit towns of Lake County, a smoky haze lingering through the hot, drought-dried summer...But now, after the Valley Fire ravaged Middletown and the smaller village of Cobb, burning hundreds of homes in one of the state’s most damaging blazes, Lake County residents aren’t just frustrated and scared. They’re shell-shocked.
