Warm temperatures on Wednesday sets R.I. record

On the cusp of November, a heat wave came to Rhode Island this week, delivering an all-time high temperature for Oct. 19 of 83 degrees on Wednesday afternoon.
The new record was recorded at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick at 3:15 p.m., said Rebecca Gould, a National Weather Service meteorologist based in Taunton, Massachusetts.
It blew up the previous record of 81 degrees, set in 1945.
