Sydney swelters through hottest November temperatures in more than three decades

Sydney is sweltering through its hottest November day in 33 years, with temperatures still hot this evening, heightening the risk of bushfires. Temperatures in the city increased by seven degrees in 10 minutes this afternoon, hitting 40.9 degrees at 3.05pm, close to the all-time November record of 41.8 degrees set in 1982. Sydney Airport reached 42.8 degrees at 3.09pm, making it the hottest November day since 1982 when it reached 43.4 degrees.
