Liability for climate change

Some say the science of attributing individual extreme weather events to climate change dates back to this 2003 commentary. This was soon followed by a 2004 research study by Peter Stott and colleagues that examined the 2003 European heat wave, which found climate change had more than doubled the risk of such extreme heat, while the best estimate is that it made it four times more likely[1]
