It’s only the third day of meteorological winter, but Buffalo has already set a record. Actually, it’s a record that shows just how very un-winterlike things are right now. In a city renown for epic lake effect snow and cold conditions, Buffalo has been in the grips of a mild wave that’s left the city snowless for all of November. With no snow in the forecast on Thursday (or the for the foreseeable future), it also means Buffalo will break a 116-year-old record for the latest start to the snowy season. There were a few days in November with a trace of snow, but none had snow stick on the ground. The previous record holder for latest first measurable snowfall was Dec. 3, 1899.
