High-resolution permafrost modeling in Denali National Park and Preserve
- Finds that even though half of the ground in Denali National Park is typically frozen year-round, if global warming continues at the current pace, just 1 percent of this land could remain permafrost by the 2090s
- Finds that farther south, in Wrangell-St. Elias Park and Preserve, nearly three-fourths of the ground that is permanently frozen today could have only 15 percent of the permafrost remaining by the 2090s
